Hi,i posted earlier cause i thought i had a faulty ram stick,but have now found out the slot is not reading the ram.Ive got 2x256 ram sticks and they both work in the second(B) slot but niether works in the first(A) slot.Im completly stuck as to what can b causing this.

I've recently tried to add a second 2GB RAM to a computer. I bought a pair of OCZ OCZ2P8002G and added them to my BioStar GF8200E motherboard... Unfortunately Windows 7 x86 only showed 2GB available. But when changed the memory to the other RAM Slot the computer started with 2GB RAM as always and in conclusion both RAM memories are fine. It seems that one of the memory slots is fried. Only way i found to check if one of the slots is broken was to do a memtest so i ran the command memtest all but i got no errors and the system didn't freeze.

The old ram seated with out a problem but the new ram didn't quite make contact (about 8 times in a row!!). I finally noticed and did a little judicious pushing and it seated and I've my full 2gig.
